A new manga series titled “Hyōyomi no Victoria” is set to debut on June 20 in Kodansha’s Morning magazine. The series, created by artist Shū Okimoto and writer Koichi Suzuki, follows the story of election consultant Tsubasa and aspiring politician Kenzō as they aim to unseat a long-standing mayor. The original story concept was developed in collaboration with political consultant Kumiko Suzuka.
Okimoto and Tadashi Agi recently wrapped up their sequel manga “Kami no Shizuku deuxième” in Morning magazine. The duo originally gained fame for their work on “The Drops of God” series, which ended in 2014 after boosting wine sales and earning critical acclaim.
“The Drops of God” manga inspired a live-action TV series and was recognized by French wine magazine La Revue du vin de France. The success of the series led to an internationally co-produced television adaptation that premiered on Apple TV+ in 2023.
With the upcoming release of “Hyōyomi no Victoria,” fans can look forward to a new political drama with the same creative team behind “The Drops of God.” Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting new manga series.
