Shocking Mumbai Ice Cream Incident: Human Finger Found in Online Order

In a shocking incident in Malad, Mumbai, a woman claimed to have found a severed human finger inside an ice cream cone. The woman, who ordered the ice cream online, shared a picture of the alleged discovery and filed a complaint with the police.

Initial investigations by the police revealed the presence of a human appendage in the ice cream cone. The ice cream containing the alleged human finger has been sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for further analysis. The Malad police have registered a case against the ice cream company under sections 272, 272, and 336 of the Indian Penal Code.

The woman stated that she had consumed more than half of the ice cream before noticing something amiss and finding the severed finger inside. The police confirmed, “A woman found a piece of a human finger inside the ice cream cone ordered online. Subsequently, she approached the Malad police station. The Malad police have lodged a case against Yummo Ice Cream company and sent the ice cream with the human body part to the FSL.”

The incident unfolded when Brandan Serao, a resident of Orlem, ordered a cone ice cream through an online delivery app. To his shock, he found a nearly 2 cm long severed human finger inside the ice cream. Serao, a medical doctor by profession, reported the matter to the Malad police.

According to reports, Serao’s sister was ordering groceries online when she included three butterscotch cone ice creams in the list. Upon delivery, they discovered the severed finger in one of the cones, prompting them to contact the authorities. A senior police officer mentioned that the ice cream manufacturing and packaging facility would also be thoroughly examined.

The investigation is ongoing to determine how a human finger ended up in the ice cream and to ensure the safety standards of the production and distribution process. The disturbing discovery has raised concerns about food safety and quality control measures in the ice cream industry.
