Idea Factory International (IFI) recently announced a delay in the release of the Hyperdimension Neptunia game series for PlayStation 4 in North America and Europe. The release date has been pushed from September 30 to October 28 due to a manufacturing setback.
The delay affects three games: Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 1, Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 2 Sisters Generation, and Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth3 V Generation. These games were originally scheduled for release on both physical and digital platforms.
Interestingly, the Nintendo Switch versions of these games were canceled in North America and Europe due to content issues that did not comply with Nintendo Guidelines. This decision was made earlier, and the games were indefinitely delayed for digital release in the West.
Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 1 is a remake of the first game in Compile Heart’s Hyperdimension Neptunia series. Originally released for the PS Vita in Japan in 2013 and the West in 2014, the game later made its way to PC via Steam in 2015. A refined version for the PS4, Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 1+, was released in Japan in May 2018.
The second and third installments, Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 2 and Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth3 V Generation, also received releases in the West on PS Vita and PC via Steam.
With these delays and cancellations, fans of the Hyperdimension Neptunia series are left wondering about the future of the games on different platforms. Will there be further complications with releases on other consoles? How will the company address the content issues for the Nintendo Switch versions?
As players eagerly anticipate the new release dates, it remains to be seen how Idea Factory International will navigate these challenges and deliver the beloved Hyperdimension Neptunia games to fans worldwide.
