Priyanka Gandhi’s Potential Electoral Debut in Wayanad Sparks Speculation

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi may soon have to make a tough decision about which Lok Sabha seat to retain, as per rules that prohibit an individual from keeping both. After winning by a significant margin in both Wayanad (Kerala) and Raebareli (Uttar Pradesh) during the recent Lok Sabha elections, Rahul must now choose one within 14 days of the result declaration on June 4.

Speculation is rife that Rahul might vacate the Wayanad seat to make way for his sister, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, to make her electoral debut. Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) Chief K Sudhakaran hinted at this possibility, suggesting that Wayanad may go vacant as Rahul Gandhi cannot be expected to remain there while leading the nation.

Rahul himself has acknowledged the dilemma posed by this decision but reassured his supporters that both Raebareli and Wayanad will be happy with his choice. With posters already up in Wayanad urging Priyanka to “take care” of the constituency, the stage seems set for her potential entry into the electoral arena from that seat.

The NDTV report added further weight to the speculation, highlighting the growing buzz around Rahul Gandhi’s seat allocation dilemma. While supporters await his final decision, it remains to be seen how this political chess move will play out in the days to come.
