Capcom unveiled a brand new trailer for its highly anticipated game, Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, during the Summer Games Fest. The trailer introduces the character Soh and announces that the game is set to release on July 19 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Xbox Game Pass, Windows, and PC via Steam.
Described as a “Kagura action strategy” game, Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess offers a unique Japanese-inspired single-player experience. Players will navigate a mountain plagued by defilement, purifying villages during the day and protecting the Maiden from the fearsome Seethe at night. The game’s cycle of day and night presents a challenging gameplay loop where players must cleanse the mountain of defilement to restore peace to the land.
Combining action and strategy elements, Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess is being developed on the RE Engine by Capcom. Microsoft has drawn comparisons to beloved titles like Okami and Shinsekai – Into the Depths, promising an immersive and thrilling experience for players.
The game’s narrative centers around an intense conflict between the spirit realm and humanity. Players will face off against sinister creatures as they guide the Spirit Stone Maiden on her heroic journey.
