Netflix Premieres Sailor Moon Cosmos Films Aug 22!



The highly-anticipated two-part finale of the ‘Shadow Galactica’ arc in the Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Cosmos the Movie will be available for streaming worldwide exclusively on Netflix starting August 22. The first film premiered on June 9, 2023, followed by the second installment on June 30.

Directed by Tomoya Takahashi and produced by Toei Animation, this anime adaptation of Naoko Takeuchi’s original Sailor Moon manga features Kazuyuki Fudeyasu as the scriptwriter and Kazuko Tadano as the character designer. The music is composed by Yasuharu Takanashi, with Daoko performing the theme song “Tsuki no Hana” (Moon Flower).

Previously, Netflix streamed the two-part Sailor Moon Eternal The Movie in June 2021, covering the “Dead Moon” arc. This film project served as the fourth season of Sailor Moon Crystal, following the third season that premiered in 2016.

Moreover, Viz Media has licensed all three seasons of Sailor Moon Crystal in North America, with the final season, Sailor Moon Stars, receiving its first home video release in the region. Originally airing from 1996 to 1997, the fifth season adapts the “Shadow Galactica” arc, completing the iconic Sailor Moon series.
