Mecha-Ude: Exciting Updates on Cast and Visuals!

Pony Canyon has unveiled a new key visual and two additional cast members for the upcoming anime adaptation of Sae Okamoto’s Mecha-Ude project. The new cast members include Aoi Yūki as Fubuki and Yōko Hikasa as Amaryllis. The anime is set to premiere in October and features a talented production team, including director Sae Okamoto, series script overseer Yasuhiro Nakanishi, and character designers Terumi Nishii and Yoko Uchida.

The story revolves around the town of Kitakagami City, where some individuals possess Mecha-Ude – powerful mechanical beings attached to their limbs. When middle school student Hikaru activates Alma, a mysterious Mecha-Ude, they form an unlikely bond. However, they soon find themselves pursued by shadowy organizations and corporate assassins with their own deadly Mecha-Ude. Together, Hikaru and Alma must uncover the truth behind Alma’s origins and prevent him from falling into the wrong hands.

The project originated from a successful Kickstarter campaign in 2016, followed by a Japanese crowdfunding campaign that raised significant funds. This led to the announcement of a full anime adaptation by Pony Canyon in September 2022. The anime’s first episode premiered at Anime Expo in July 2023, building anticipation for the upcoming series.

In addition to the anime adaptation, Yoshino Koyoka launched a manga adaptation of Mecha-Ude in September 2022, available on the LINE Manga and ebookjapan platforms. The English version of the manga, titled Mecha-Ude: Mechanical Arms, was released in July 2023 by Azuki.

With a compelling storyline and a talented team behind its production, Mecha-Ude promises to deliver an action-packed and intriguing anime experience for viewers. As the premiere date approaches, fans can look forward to exploring the world of Kitakagami City and following the adventures of Hikaru and Alma as they navigate through a world filled with mystery and danger.
