Haunted Highway 94: San Diego’s Spooky Road

Published:

As we enter the spooky season of October, many thrill-seekers are looking for a chance to experience something supernatural. One roadway in San Diego County has been deemed one of the “most haunted” in the country, according to a recent analysis by car rental company SIXT.

What makes Highway 94, stretching from Rancho San Diego to Campo, so eerie? Locals point to Haven Bakery, located off Highway 94, which has a tragic history. Reports of sightings of ghosts, creatures, and demons along the road are said to be connected to the bakery, adding to its haunted reputation.

SIXT conducted research by analyzing search trends on Google and TikTok to rank the most haunted roads in the U.S. They looked at road names accompanied by terms like “ghost” or “haunted” to determine their rankings. Additionally, they consulted the Ghosts of America website to find states with the most roadside ghost sightings.

Highway 94 was the only California roadway to make it into the top 20 most haunted roads in the country. The rankings placed Clinton Road in New Jersey at No. 1 and Florida’s Interstate 4 at No. 2.

Have you ever experienced anything unusual while driving on Highway 94? With its haunted history and reported sightings, it’s no wonder this road has gained a reputation for the supernatural.
