Harutya and Nao Tōyama Team Up for Mechanical Marie!

The upcoming television anime series “Mechanical Marie,” based on Aki Akimoto’s manga, is set to debut in October. The official website recently announced the theme song artists for the show. Harutya will perform the opening theme song titled “Honto to Uso” (Truth and Lies), while Nao Tōyama, as her character Marie, will sing the ending theme song “Cross Heart ~Itsuwari no Nai Kimochi” (Feelings With No Lies).

Directed by Junji Nishimura, known for works like “Bakuon!!” and “Ranma ½,” the anime will air on Tokyo MX, YTV, and BS Fuji. Fans worldwide, excluding Asia but including India and the Indian Subcontinent, can catch the show on Crunchyroll.

The story follows Marie, a former martial artist who now works undercover as a “mechanical maid” in the mansion of Arthur, heir to a powerful conglomerate. The series promises a mix of thrills and close calls as Marie tries to keep her true identity hidden while navigating a budding romance with Arthur.

The manga, which began as a one-shot in Hakusensha’s LaLa magazine, concluded its serialization in June 2023. Yen Press has licensed the manga for an English release, with the first volume set to hit shelves on August 26. A sequel manga, “Kikaijikake no Marie+,” launched in LaLa in April.
