Former Lady Vols Shine in WNBA Game

In a thrilling WNBA matchup on Sunday, two former Lady Vols showcased their skills on the court. Isabelle Harrison and Diamond DeShields, both Tennessee alumnae, competed for the Chicago Sky against the Minnesota Lynx at Wintrust Arena in Chicago, Illinois.

Harrison, who played for the Lady Vols from 2011-2015 under the guidance of legendary coaches Pat Summitt and Holly Warlick, notched four points, three rebounds, two steals, and two assists for the Sky. Despite converting only 1-of-5 field goal attempts, Harrison’s contributions in the game were noteworthy.

On the other hand, DeShields, who donned the Lady Vols jersey from 2015-2017 after transferring from North Carolina, recorded four points, two rebounds, and two steals in just 12 minutes of play for Chicago. Her efficiency in converting 2-for-4 field goal attempts showcased her scoring prowess.

Harrison, a first-round draft pick in the 2015 WNBA draft by Phoenix, was a standout player during her time at Tennessee. She earned two first-team All-SEC honors and was named the SEC Tournament Most Valuable Player in 2014.

DeShields, a first-round pick in the 2018 WNBA draft (No. 3 overall), also left a lasting impact during her tenure with the Lady Vols. In 2017, she was recognized as a first-team All-SEC selection for her stellar performances on the court.

As these former Lady Vols continue to shine in the WNBA, their contributions serve as a testament to the strong legacy of Tennessee basketball. With their talent and determination, Harrison and DeShields are making their mark in the professional basketball world, representing the Lady Vols with pride and excellence.
