Estonia’s Sahil Chauhan Smashes Fastest T20 Century, Breaks Chris Gayle Record

Estonian batsman Sahil Chauhan has made history in T20 cricket by scoring the fastest century ever in just 27 balls. Chauhan surpassed explosive West Indies batsman Chris Gayle’s record, who had scored a century in 30 balls during an IPL match in 2013.

Chauhan had previously made headlines in May by hitting six sixes in an over. Currently, he is representing Estonia in a series against Cyprus. In the second match of the series, Chauhan played a remarkable innings, becoming the highest individual scorer for Estonia. He hit 18 sixes in his innings, setting a world record in T20 Internationals.

In response to Cyprus scoring 191 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs, Estonia managed to chase down the target by scoring 194 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in just 13 overs. Chauhan’s blistering knock of 144 runs off 41 balls included 18 sixes and 6 fours.

The fastest centuries in T20 cricket now stand as follows:
– Sahil Chauhan – 27 balls (Estonia vs Cyprus, 2024)
– Chris Gayle – 30 balls (RCB vs PWI, 2013)
– Jan Nicol-Lofti Eaton – 33 balls (vs Nepal, 2024)

Chauhan’s exceptional performance has raised questions about his potential in international cricket. Will he be able to maintain this level of performance in future matches? Can he replicate his success against stronger opponents? Only time will tell, but Chauhan’s talent is undeniable.

As Chauhan continues to make headlines with his explosive batting displays, cricket fans around the world eagerly await to see what the future holds for this talented young cricketer. Stay tuned for more updates on Sahil Chauhan’s cricketing journey.
