Lords of the Fallen Sequel: Epic Games Exclusive in 2026

In exciting news for fans of the Soulslike genre, a sequel to the popular action-RPG Lords of the Fallen has been announced. Publisher CI Games has confirmed that the sequel is currently in development and is slated for release in 2026 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X.

The announcement came as part of a recent agreement between CI Games and Epic Games, granting Epic Games exclusive worldwide distribution rights to the sequel on PC. The game, tentatively titled “Project 3,” will be available exclusively on the Epic Games Store for its entire lifecycle.

While the PC version of the game will be exclusive to the Epic Games Store, CI Games retains the rights to publish and distribute the game on other platforms, including the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The detailed publishing agreement between CI Games and Epic Games is still being negotiated and will be announced at a later date.

The original Lords of the Fallen, released in 2023 on PS5, Xbox Series S/X, and PC, received critical acclaim and sold over 1 million copies worldwide within 10 days of launch. Developed by Hexworks and built on Epic’s Unreal Engine 5, the game served as a reboot of the 2014 title of the same name.

Following the success of the original game, Lords of the Fallen received a free 1.5 “Master of Fate” update in April, introducing seven different game modifiers to enhance the player experience. By November 2023, global sales of the game had surpassed 1.2 million units.
